The El Salto Rope Swing is a nice family-friendly river activity to stop by if you’re visiting the town of La Fortuna. It is located right by the bridge crossing over the Fortuna River and is completely free to access. As a bonus, it’s just about a 10 minute walk from “Camping Lagos del Rio,” so you can leave your car parked and walk directly from the campsite.

The rope swing is located right by a large deep natural pool created by the Fortuna River. There are plenty of rocks and places to sit with friends and family to enjoy the beautiful turquoise river, and the water is cool and refreshing for a nice freshwater swim. Even if there are plenty of people visiting, you will have almost no wait time to use the rope swing for a thrilling plunge into the deep natural pool.

This beautiful spot is worth visiting for a few hours to enjoy the views and relax/swim with friends and family. As it is an unsupervised swimming activity, make sure you take the proper precautions and be safe if you’re with small children – especially during the rainy season when the current can get strong due to the rain.
