The Caño Island is one of the top 3 places in Costa Rica for snorkeling and diving due to its shallow reefs all around the island, full of wildlife like turtles, small reef sharks, stingrays, and colorful reef fish.

You get picked up at the Ganadito Camping, right on the beach shore, by a motorboat, then head out to the reef surrounding the island, where you will have the chance to do 2 snorkeling immersions led by local guides who know the perfect places to spot as much wildlife as possible. A snack of fruits is provided in between the immersions.

On the way back, we pass by the isolated Playa San Pedrillo to have a traditional lunch and some relaxed beach time. It is common to spot and even interact with some of the little rascals, the capuchin monkeys. After that, it’s 15 minutes on the boat, trying to spot some dolphins along the way, jumping around and following the boat, before a final landing on the Ganadito Beach shore again.
