Termales El Guayacán lies in Fortuna de Bagaces, Guanacaste, on the slopes of the Miravalles Volcano, roughly an hour from Liberia.
The site is fed by geothermally heated water and offers eight thermal pools of varying temperatures ranging from about 0.75 m to 2 m deep, plus a long water slide and a volcanic-mud pool. There are more than 40 ranchos for groups from 4 to 12 people.
A short trail leads past fumaroles (steam vents), a hot streambed, a volcanic clay mud bath, and a lookout toward Miravalles. Wildlife including monkeys, toucans and varied birds is commonly seen.
It is a local-tourism spot ideal for escaping crowds; reachable by public bus from Liberia toward Aguas Claras (stop at the La Unión crossing, then ~1 km walk).
