Rio Tigre is deep into the Jungle of the Osa Peninsula like 10 minutes before Puerto Jimenez town, is an underestimated lush area due to being out of the touristic hotspots but for being out of this touristic to crowded places make the exploring along this area full of more genuine lushness than other places like Drake Bay or Manuel Antonio
Rio Tigre is the name of the tiny town near by, a place like lost into the edge of the Corcovado National Park where you can camp and coordinate with local guides nocturnal hikes for spotting frogs, snakes and many birds also on the fry season you can consider doing the Rio Tigre Hidden Jumping Canyon Hike, a flat hike for 2 kilometers / 45 minutes into the forest crossing the river by foot many times for reaching a small narrow river canyon where you can jump into the water. This hike is along the riverside into the jungle with local guides and full of naturalist information and wildlife spotting like birds, small mammals, frogs, lizards and one or two snakes
About the campsite is right on a riverside beach along the Rio Tigre looking directly to the forest on a private property with proper restrooms and showers on a big old fashion wooden house of the owner
The owners are two brothers Fainier & Don Adrian whom passionate for the old fashion living bought this property and built the house by themlselves and this campsite on part of its property so locals and foreigners can enjoy the simple rural lifestyle they have, but even in the middle of nowhere there, there is Wifi available in case you might need to plan your trip, navigate or get it touch with local guides
The best part of this campsite is the riverside spot where you can spend the night by looking at the deep forest and make a small bonfire and hear all kind of jungle sounds
