Rafa’s place is a simple place where you can truly camp right in fornt of the beach and having the experience of spotting the turtles either arriving to lay eggs or in the amazing case scenario the baby ones jumping out of their hidden nests into the ocean….. is always ana Amazing Experience!
The peak of the turtle sitting season is September and October but the Olive Ridley Turtles arrive all year long so dont get surprised if wile you are camping you spot a couple of turtle moms arriving to lay eggs.

Even when you can see them right in front of the campsite it is still a protected area so you can not interact with them of you are not autorized for it but you can approach to see them clearly only by ussing a red light or minimal amber light.

The facilities of the campsite are rather simple but always keept clean by Rafa’s family and the extrategic location of the campsite right in the middle of the Nicoya Peninsula allows you to arrive even on the rough raining season taking routes over the north side of the coastline secondary road.
