On Cocal beach near Quepos, on the central Pacific coast, Miguel Surf Camp is a rustic, self-sufficient camp built largely by its owner, Miguel. The property sits directly on a quiet beach, within what was once a small fishing village, just a few kilometers from Manuel Antonio National Park.

Accommodation ranges from a tent option to simple double rooms, with a shared, equipped kitchen, a firepit and grill area, and eco-style bathrooms. The camp generates its own power and has an EV charging station for small electric cars also reflecting its self-sufficient approach.

Access can be by road in the dry season, or via the camp’s own ferry in the rainy season but might not be completely safe for big cars
Miguel, his wife Pili and their son Matías are known for welcoming visitors warmly, giving the place a close, genuine feel typical of the small coastal towns of the central Pacific.
