On the slopes of Miravalles Volcano, in Fortuna de Bagaces, Guanacaste, Las Hornillas is a small family-run project centered on an active crater of about 5,000 square meters, which visitors can walk through while observing hot-water pools, bubbling mud pots, fumaroles and sulphur deposits.
The property has hot springs, a natural mud bath with therapeutic clays, a sauna, a restaurant, cabins and a camping area. The atmosphere is distinctly family-oriented and far from mass tourism, with a genuine character that stands apart from more crowded thermal attractions in the region.
The volcanic surroundings of Miravalles offer a unique landscape within Guanacaste’s highlands, with vegetation typical of the area and a calm atmosphere that invites visitors to spend the full day or stay overnight on site.
