This beautiful open camping spot is located right in the middle of the country, about 50 minutes from the SJO airport and 30 minutes north of the center of Alajuela. It’s the perfect convenient spot to camp if you want to stay in a tranquil wooded campsite close to the city.
The large property has two open grass fields for camping, surrounded by trees and next to a small lake. Both camping areas include proper restrooms, showers, and designated bonfire areas. The owner has firewood for sale, but you can also collect wood from the nearby pine trees. This is a great place for family and dogs, as there is plenty of space for outdoor activities.
This campsite is a quick 30 minute drive from the entrance to the Poás Volcano National Park, which is known for its spectacular views into the crater of the volcano. You’ll also be 45 minutes to the Bajos del Toro area, which is worth the visit for those interested in rainforest hiking and epic waterfalls.
