This pleasant campsite is located within the northern volcanic range of the country, about 1.5 hours north of La Fortuna. It’s conveniently located just 3km and 4 minutes driving from the main entrance of the Tenorio National Park, famous for its forest trails that go along the crystal blue Rio Celeste river. It’s a great place to camp if you want a peaceful camping experience close to volcanic trails and waterfalls hikes.
The campsite consists of large open spaces so you can set up camp with plenty of space and privacy. You’ll have access to nice facilities, a shared kitchen, fire pit areas, and large shelters to get out of the rain. Wifi is available across the entire campsite, and they also offer a laundry service if needed.
There is a small trail on the campsite that will take you to a waterfall and natural river pool which are completely private, so you’ll have the place to yourself to enjoy the views and go on a quick swim during a hot and humid day.
This campsite is about a 20 minutes drive from the Bijagua town, which is a small, local town with tour guides offering river tubbing, ATV adventures and horseback riding excursions. You will also be just 1 hour driving from the Miravalles National Park, where you can find hot springs, campsites, hikes and waterfalls.
