There are areas of the country where travelers have not heard of, most visitors of our country  just hear about the to touristy areas and don’t consider small rural areas I like to call “little hidden gems”, and I’m not just talking about the natural attractions and non touristy yet non exploited areas, im talking about its people and how they make you feel like at home if they got the chance to share with you their local services and secluded places where they have effort so much along the years.  This community of San Vicente is perfect for that, consider this area if you are traveling from the SJO airport to La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area, located half way point into the Cloud Forest of the Juan Castro Blanco National Park, or if you are on exit route to the San Jose airport from the northern volcanic highlands.The campsite has proper clean well taken care of facilities like showers, restrooms and small kitchen common area with all basic utensils, there is some signal coverage if you need planning your coming route and if you need a nice traditional breakfast based on local harvest products you can talk to Gaby or Doña Rocio to schedule a nice breakfast at their “Soda Dulcelina”, probably one of the best traditional costarican food you can try in the country, maybe even the best “Gallo Pinto” you will try here in Costa Rica. It’s always a good idea to let them know you are coming by sending a whatsapp message, tourism is starting in this nice town, so, they need to know if you are coming to leave the gate open for you and even welcome you and show you all the facilities all around.From the campsite also you have the chance for doing several activities all from local community projects like light intensity hikes to hidden waterfalls, viewpoints of the lowlands, farming process of local products like goat cheese even hikes to extinct volcanoes like Pozo Verde over the old mining route and for the most adventurous there is also the chance for the ATV’s rides over real muddy terrain on the nearby single track trails and a tarzan swing, and the best part is that you are always interacting with local people, on a National Park and on a non touristy area.
