This jungle retreat is located within the Corcovado National Park on the southern end of the Osa Peninsula. Getting there is an adventure in itself – once you reach the town of Puerto Jimenez, it is about a 2-hour drive on a long dirt road along the coast and into the jungle – but it is worth the ride if you want to get away from the crowds and and feel totally immersed in nature with direct access to the Corcovado National Park.

Luna Lodge is a wellness center/yoga retreat with a lodge, yoga platform and thatched roof bungalows along the property. They have a nice spot for camping in their parking lot and offer full access to all of the hotel services, including the facilities, pool, and trails. Because of its isolated location, the restaurant on the property is the only food option available in the area – however it’s 100% worth it as they use all local ingredients and the food is delicious.

It’s worth it to stay at this campsite for several days to truly enjoy its remote location. You can explore the network of trails on the property which lead to the Carate River and it’s natural pools and waterfalls, or participate in a number of activities in the area including guided waterfall hikes, night hikes, kayaking, and yoga. The owner, Lana, is a yoga expert, and is passionate about sustainability and being in harmony with nature. She offers yoga and Reiki sessions and will be happy to share her philosophy with those who are interested in learning more.
