Just 1.5 hours form the airport this hidden camping spot on close to the Carara National Park is perfect for a first camping night and then a morning hike into the forest and taking a swim on a natural pool. The campground has all facilities and even if you coordinate by WhatsApp they can make you lunch if needed

Once there you can camp on a designated area and from there hike to the Bijagual Waterfall, who runs down form the Carara National Park Rain Forest like a stair down waterfall with more than 300 meters high in total. The hike from the campsite to the natural pools and waterfall is just 45 minutes total walk light intensity but on the way back from it the first 200 meters are steep up with some uphill stairs but not a big deal

There is also the chance to visit the Bijagual town, a still not to touristy tiny picturesque town with local harvest products and great small local food places known as “Sodas” for a real costarican lunch or breakfast

The weather at night is fresh for sleeping and camping and even on summer nights gets a bit windy but perfect for camping
