This spacious campsite is located just 5 minutes walking from Playa Grande, which is a vast and beautiful beach that is often overshadowed by the nearby famous surfing hotspot of Tamarindo. This is a great place to stay if you want to spend the day at a great surfing beach on the Guanacaste Coast while avoiding the large crowds of Tamarindo.
Piratas Place is a pleasant and secure campsite just 100 meters from the beach. You will be able to set up your tent anywhere on the nice flat white sand property, which is surrounded by trees to provide shade on the hot sunny days. The campsite is equipped with well maintained bathrooms, indoor/outdoor showers, a shared kitchen, and a common dining area.
The property is gated and has good security, so you can feel free to leave your belongings during the day and spend your time surfing and enjoying the sunset at Playa Grande before visiting the nearby town for a bite to eat. The place also has very good wifi if you need to get some work done during your trip.
This location is good place to start your trip if you are wanting to explore the beaches of Guanacaste and the Nicoya Peninsula. It’s about 2 hours from Liberia, so you can start your trip here before making your way down the Pacific Coast, visiting beaches such as Avellanas, Playa Negro, and Samara, before arriving at the famous surf towns of Santa Teresa and Montezuma.
