Pozas y Cascadas La Presa

The area of Bajos del Toro is knowned for its amount of waterfalls all over the canyon area and this campsite is one perfect example of a hidden gem into the cloud forest
On the campsite you got all the proper amenities like shelters, restrooms, common kitchen area, showers, fire pit and even a small restaurant so you can coordinate food if you talk the owners of the place
The best of this place is that night there is usually nobody at the campsite so you got the whole place for yourselves and by far the hike to the hidden waterfalls is easy and you can reach natural pools and even jumping from a 7 meter high jump to a small pool canyon
The hikes goes along a couple of kilometers barely and you can enjoy a peaceful morning hike without any disturbance of artificial sounds and morning birds
Perfect place to start if you are on your way to La Fortuna or Tortuguero form the San Jose airport because the drive there is just 1.5 hours and there are several sodas and small / medium supermarkets for groceries along the way

Note:

Never drive this area of Bajos del Toro arriving at night because there is a sinus road full of dangerous curves and extreme up and down hills, calculate your time properly to avoid the danger of driving at night and with the extreme fog along this area
