This is a very popular Caribbean campsite due to its perfect beachfront location right next to the town of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. It’s the ideal spot if you’re looking to experience relaxed beach vibes and share in a chill, “hippie” atmosphere with friendly locals and foreigners.

The campsite is located right next to the beach, with a fence surrounding the whole area to provide security to all the campers. They have large covered areas for people to set up their tents and get out of the rain, but you can also camp anywhere along the grassy property. The facilities are quite large and include access to hammocks, common areas, kitchen, lockers, laundry service, and bathrooms/showers. The staff is friendly and do their best to maintain the facilities and keep everything clean even during the really busy season.

You’ll have direct and free access to the beach, which is covered by trees and shady areas, so you can relax in a hammock along the shore or get out in the waves for some surfing. You can also rent bikes from the campsite to get around the town, and they have a bar on the property where you can hang out after a day at the beach.

This campground is a hotspot for backpackers and campers who are traveling on a budget, so you’ll find people who stay in the area for weeks just to get away from the busy city life and enjoy the chill beach town vibes. For this reason this place can get quite crowded by locals and foreigners, especially during the high season (November-February), so consider that you’ll be sharing the space with many people with limited privacy.
