This beautiful garden property is located about 20 minutes south of the Santa Elena town in a secluded hidden spot with access via a secondary gravel road. It’s a unique camping experience with plenty to do and explore right on the property, with access to high quality facilities, hiking trails, and opportunities to spot wildlife.
This large property is used for regenerative farming and has gardens, fruit trees, and a greenhouse to explore. The camping area is a nice flat grassy space next to the gardens – it’s one of the few places in the Monteverde area where you can camp without any risk of strong wind conditions. The common areas are perfect for a “luxurious” camping experience, with free use of a full kitchen with gas stove and sink, grills, and hot water showers.
There is so much to do at this campsite! You can tour the regenerative farm and gardens, explore the network of trails leading to a hidden creek in the forest, take a dip in the nearby natural cold spring, lounge in the hammocks, and browse the art and artifacts decorating the property. If you are a fan of night hiking, you can search the trees and creek at night for wildlife. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to spot the blue jeans frog, night mammals like the Olingo, night owls, and even the Eyelash pit viper!
Derek is the owner of the property, and he and his family will host you as if you part of the family. He will be happy to give you a tour of the grounds or help you to schedule a tour with the nearby Monteverde attractions.
Keep in mind that it’s best to have a vehicle with good clearance to enter the property. There is a small creek crossing on the way where you can stop for a picture, and keep an eye out along the road for birds hanging out in the treetops.
